Who is a Chiropractor?

Healthy You!

As a Doctor of Chiropractic, many of my business associates and friends ask me what I do and I am quite frankly astounded, No one asks what an allopathic physician does. We all a know that they help to heal the body with drugs and surgery. As a chiropractor, I attempt the same thing, except that I help the body heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. I cannot speak for other types of health care providers, but as a chiropractor, my philosophy is to give the body a jump start with a adjustment to the spine which in a way jogs the nervous system out of its day dream and let it know that it can start the healing process. It is my opinion however, that if a drug helps, it does so because it has removed a road block to the innate healing. My point being, that it is the body that does the healing and not the drug.

I work with the electrical energy that starts in the brain and works it way through the spinal cord and out the vertebral column to the muscles and organs our body. If we have a neck or back ache or shoulder or knee ache or a stomach ache, it is all the same to the spine. I mean, that it is an interference to the normal flow of energy from the spinal column. I may help your back or your stomach, but the cause comes from the spine and that is where I concentrate my labors. I am the first to admit that there are many other things that will contribute to a spinal subluxation, such as mental states (stress, worry, etc), physical injury, dietary
patterns
to mention a few and those also have to be addressed for the nervous system to maintain your health. I will address these things and any questions or comments you may have in next blog.
