UPDATE: Route 31 Re-Opens After Second Gas Leak in 2 Days

Route 31 is closed between Ray Street and Terra Cotta Avenue in Crystal Lake on Wednesday from about 12:15 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 31 has re-opened, according to Crystal Lake Police.

Crystal Lake Police at about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday issued an alert to motorists to avoid Route 31 between Ray Street and Terra Cotta Avenue due to another natural gas leak.

The advisory says drivers should avoid the area for the next three hours. Route 31 is closed between Terra Cotta Avenue and Ray Street.

Prairie Grove Police Department issued an alert on Tuesday after a gas leak occurred on Route 176.
