D-46 School Board Vows to be More Transparent

More training is planned for school board members in an effort to increase transparency.

The board of education for Prairie Grove School District 46 is taking measures to be more transparent in its actions following an article published by the Northwest Herald regarding possible violations to the Open Meetings Act.

Additional board member training will be conducted and board meeting agendas will offer clearer information for the public, particularly reasons for going into closed session, according to the Northwest Herald.

"We have to be squeaky clean," board president Margaret Ponga told the newspaper. "It's not because of the exposure. It's because it's the right thing to do."
