McHenry Area Jaycees Hold 26th Annual Haunted House

The McHenry Jaycees Annual Haunted House is located at 300 S. Route 31, McHenry.

When it comes to running a haunted house, the McHenry Area Jaycees have a bit of experience.

The Jaycees are holding their 26th Haunted House this Halloween season. They've been working for the past month to transform the barn at Knox Park, 300 S. Route 31, in McHenry, into a frightening and fun haunting.

Located on a somewhat secluded setting, the Knox Park Barn is the perfect backdrop for a haunt filled with ghoulish characters and other spooky scenes.

While the Jaycees build the house, they get lots of help from area high school students who help run the event and serve as actors.

The annual event helps fund most of McHenry's 4th of July Fireworks, organizers said.

More information about the Haunted House is available on the McHenry Jaycees Haunted House Facebook page and the McHenry Jaycees Haunted House website.
