Crystal Lake Park District Half Marathon

The 17th Annual Crystal Lake Half Marathon

The Crystal Lake Park District will be hosting its 17th
Annual Half Marathon on Sunday, September 8. Please join us for a competitive
race, on a USATF certified course, through Lippold Park, Crystal Lake, and Lakewood.
Awards will be given to first, second, and third place finishers for males and
females in each age division, as well as the overall male and female winner.
Long sleeve Technical shirts will be given to all pre-registered runners. Water
and Gatorade will be available on the course, along with refreshments at the
finish line for all participants.

The Crystal Lake ½ Marathon will have a Clydesdale division
for men over 220lbs and an Athena division for women over 165lbs. The
philosophy behind Weight Division or Clydesdale/Athena competition is simple:
big and or tall athletes may never finish first in a race, but they are
excellent athletes among their peers and deserve to be recognized for their
efforts and accomplishments.  Athletes
excel when allowed to compete on a level playing field. "Age Group"
categories are now universally accepted. “Clydesdale” and "Athena"
categories were created to recognize big and or tall athletes.
