Angie is the Founder and Executive Artistic Director of Riverview Theatre Company, NFP

At a time in her life when acting roles were becoming fewer and fewer, Angie began to think of a way to create more performance opportunities for herself and the surrounding artistic community.  “I started thinking about more avenues for people to join in creatively - one that would enhance not only the communities we all live in, but give more choices to those actors and audiences who enjoy live theatre and wait for the theatre companies to announce their season, year after year.”  Thus Riverview Theatre Company – a non-profit community theatre group – was born.  The first year, the company signed a deal with Memorial Hall Civic Theatre of Richmond, Ill. to become their resident theatre company.  In doing so, Riverview developed a permanent home to not only present plays, musicals and children’s projects, but to provide acting classes, mentoring opportunities and new works by local artists as well.  “Having our own ‘playhouse’ was a tremendously important step in developing the kind of creative freedom we like to give local artists.  Word spread and people learned there was an approachable performance venue right in their backyard.  From there, we were able to benefit the entire fine arts community with our contributions.”

Now entering its fifth theatrical season, Riverview is based out of McHenry where the wildly popular Shakespeare in the Park Festival and Play is held annually.  A lifelong McHenry resident, Angie is married to her “still-waters-run-deep” husband John and is mother to daughter Carson, who is “18 and infinitely wiser than I was at her age!”  Following her graduation from McHenry’s East Campus High School, Angie went on to attend Illinois Wesleyan University where she majored in Music Theatre.  She has close to 30 years of stage experience both in front of and behind the curtain.
