Tollway Mobilizing for Messy Commute
Illinois Tollway monitoring conditions and is ready to mobilize snowplows but has driving tips for motorists.
The Illinois Tollway is mobilizing all available resources to keep roadways clear as rain this afternoon is expected to turn into snow at the start of this evening’s rush hour and continue into the night. “Drivers should build in some extra travel time tonight as rain turning to snow is expected to slow down this evening’s commute,” said Illinois Tollway Executive Director Kristi Lafleur. “As always, we remind our customers to use caution and leave room for snow plows to do their job.” Illinois Tollway staff has been monitoring conditions throughout the day and is prepared to mobilize snowplows and other equipment as needed when the weather begins to change.
