Tickets are still available for Sunday show featuring Haque, former guitarist for Sting.
Fareed Haque, regarded as one of the finest guitar virtuosos, will perform at the Listening Room on Sunday at Lakeside Legacy Arts Park/ Dole Mansion. Haque, who played with Sting, will perform with guest flutist Zachary Weiss from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at the Listening Room, located in the lower level of the Lakeside Legacy Arts Park, 401 Country Club Rd., Crystal Lake. The concert, held in the Listening Room's intimate setting, showcases "Music from Brazil and Beyond." It is part of the 2nd Sunday Series at 'the Listening Room.' Haque also is scheduled to appear on May 12 - Mother's Day - for a concert of "Lullabies and Love" songs with vocalists Orna Oriana and Jill Sanderson. It's First Friday at the Dole Mansion-Lakeside Legacy Arts Park in Crystal Lake today. The Lakeside Legacy Foundation hosts First Friday gallery events from 5 to 8 p.m. on the first Friday of every month. Admission is free, and the exhibits are family friendly. It's First Friday at the Dole again- the time when the Dole Mansion and Lakeside Legacy Arts Park celebrate the visual and performing arts on the first Friday of the month. This month's First Friday features "Art in Action: Passport to Creativity." Passport to Creativity includes traditional visual artwork, live music, live art demonstrations, photo booths, crafts, a culinary demonstration, free appetizers, artist studio tours, and a cash bar. The March 1st First Friday showcases the talents of the resident partner artists and musicians who rent studio space at Lakeside Legacy Arts Park. The Sage Gallery at the Lakeside Legacy Arts Park in Crystal Lake on Friday night was filled with kids of all ages wanting to learn new hip hop dance moves.
Friday night dance event was led by dancers from Summers Academy of Dance and members of the Harper College Dance Team. Lakeside Legacy Arts Park and the Dole Mansion are located at 401 Country Club Road, Crystal Lake.

Event for kids ages 10 to 14 promotes contemporary dance and teaches tweens new dance routine.
Got a young dancer in your family? Looking for a positive, upbeat and safe place for your tween to hang out? If so, bring your 10 to 14-year-old to The Hip Hop Explosion from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight (Friday, Feb. 15), at the Lakeside Legacy-Dole Mansion, 401 Country Club Road, for an evening of dance. Dubbed "Ignite the Night and Have Some Fun," this night features a two-hour hip hop program where tweens can learn and practice a new dance routine. Ghosts. Spirits. Paranormal activity. Either you believe in them, or you don't. But since it's the day before Halloween, it seemed appropriate to delve into a bit of ghostly folklore as it pertains to one of Crystal Lake's oldest landmarks - the Dole Mansion. Most people have probably driven by the old house by the lake, built in the 1860s by Charles Sidney Dole. The mansion and its addition at 401 Country Club Road are now part of the Lakeside Legacy Arts Park. Thousands of people visit the Dole grounds every summer during the Lakeside Festival, or the 4th of July celebrations. Artists Gale and Thomas Trausch are presenting a two-person show at the Dole Mansion.
Artists Gale and Thomas Trausch are presenting a two-person show, "Side by Side," in the Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake. Presenting recent works in oil and watercolor along with studio paintings., their work featured a variety of landscapes, seascapes, florals and nature imagery along with pet and animal art. "I have always had a love of animals, cats and dogs, especially along with an appreciation for the wild species of the earth," Gale said. The art exhibit will continue through January 2012.
