Cary to Host Electric Aggregation Public Forum
Residents and small businesses have the opportunity to learn the pros and cons of municipal electric aggregation.
The Village of Cary will be hosting a public forum to educate and inform residents and small business owners of the Municipal Electric Aggregation Program and what it means to them. This public forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Community Center at the Cary Park District, located at 255 Briargate Road. On Aug. 10, 2009, Governor Quinn signed a statute that allows municipalities to arrange for the provision of electricity to residential and small commercial retail customers by alternative electric suppliers (i.e., suppliers other than ComEd). While I do not support this initiative, I am curious why Cary didn't join the "other" towns in McHenry County (who are in the same process) to gain a much larger "leverage position">   more ›
