Woman From Algonquin, LITH Area Killed in Shooting
The shooting occurred in the 600 block of College Avenue in Rockford early Saturday.
A 22-year-old Rockford woman — who grew up in the Algonquin and Lake in the Hills area — was gunned down early Saturday after trying to break up a fight between four girls when a man "got involved and shot her," family members told the Rockford Register Star. Katelynn Gourley was out in Rockford for a "girls weekend out" when the shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, according to the article.
