If the recipient on your holiday shopping list doesn't mind a gently-used book as a gift or stocking stuffer, you might want to check out one of Algonquin's newest businesses: Books of Southwind, located at 4069 Algonquin Road in Algonquin. The book store is located between Lakewood and Square Barn roads along Algonquin Road and has over 35,000 books, CDs and movies, according to the Books of Southwind Facebook page. Hollie and Eric Lindgren, owners of Books of Southwind, told the Northwest Herald they felt there was a real need for an affordable bookstore in the area, especially since the Borders at the Algonquin Commons closed in 2011.
