Sheriff: Suspect on Top 10 Most Wanted List Caught

McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputies arrest McHenry man on gun charges.

  The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office arrested a McHenry man on Wednesday wanted on the county’s top 10 fugitive list. The sheriff’s Apprehension Unit arrested Justin E. Dean, 21, of 4602 E. Wonder Lake Road, on charges of possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful sale of a stolen firearm, unlawful possession of a handgun, concealing and aiding a fugitive, theft and possession of a firearm with an expired Firearm Owner Identification card, deputies said. Dean’s bond was set at $80,000. He was wanted in connection with an investigation of a stolen firearm used in an apparent accidental shooting in Volvo in October, sheriff’s deputies said. Sheriff: Charges Filed Against Woman in Bull Valley Animal Abuse

McHenry County Sheriff's Department announces charges against Virginia E. Dinucci. The Park Ridge woman gave up 91 animals to McHenry County Animal Control. Some of the animals are now available for adoption.

  A Park Ridge woman - who owns a Bull Valley home where 91 animals in various states of neglect were rescued  - has been charged with animal cruelty, McHenry County Sheriff’s deputies said. Virginia E. Dinucci, 54, of 1731 Pavilion Way, is charged with three counts of cruel treatment and 12 counts of owner’s duties, according to the sheriff's office. Her bond was set at $1,000. Sheriff’s deputies went to 8617 Bull Run Trail in Bull Valley on October 29 for a well being check but found 91 animals, some dead, in the home. McHenry County Animal Control officers removed 91 animals due to unsafe living conditions and inadequate care. A dead dog, cat and bird were discovered during the investigation and Animal Control took custody of 19 dogs, …

Woodstock Residents Arrested for Firearms, Drug Charges

Joint investigation between McHenry County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit and area police departments uncovers stolen weapons and drugs, police said.

  Two men and one woman from unincorporated Woodstock were arrested on Thursday after sheriff's officers searched their home and uncovered firearms and marijuana, police said. Lee Modesto Cruz, 27, of 9917 McConnell Rd., was charged with three counts unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts unlawful possession of firearm ammunition by a felon, one count possession of certain dogs by a felon, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a press release issued by McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren.  Kevin M. Crystal Lake Teen Arrested on Drug Charges

Kenneth L. Price is accused of selling crack cocaine in the Crystal Lake area.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office arrested a 19-year-old Crystal Lake man Friday on drug charges for allegedly selling crack cocaine in the area.  Kenneth L. Price, 7205 Manor Road, is charged with two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. His bond is set at $80,000.  During the course of an investigation, investigators arranged for crack cocaine to be sold to an undercover McHenry County Sheriff's Detective. Police said Price sold the drug to the detective during two separate meetings, according to the news release.  Price was arrested on a warrant on Sept. 21 and was taken to the McHenry County Correctional Facility.  He is next expected in court at 9 a.m…

Woodstock Elderly Woman Charged In Fatal Hit-And-Run An 83-year-old Woostock woman turned herself into McHenry County Sheriff police on Thursday afternoon after she said she unknowingly hit and killed 6-year-old Brayan Silva near Union on Sept. 8. Varamae C. Phillip was charged with failure to report a fatal traffic accident and leaving the scene of a crime, the McHenry County Sheriff's Office said. Phillip posted 10 percent of a $50,000 bond and was released. Woodstock Man Charged In Deadly Street Race McHenry County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Woodstock man in connection with a fatal traffic crash that killed two 16-year-old boys on July 1. Dan L. Huber is charged with failure to report a traffic crash, a Class 1 felony and aggravated street racing, a Class 4 felony, according to a sheriff’s department release. His bond was set at $100,000. Coroner Releases Report in Accident that Left Two Woodstock Teens Dead

The McHenry County Coroner’s report details events of July 1, the Northwest Herald reports.

  The McHenry County coroner’s office released its findings in the July 1 accident on Davis Road, in Woodstock, that left two 16-year-olds dead, the Northwest Herald reports. Jacob S. Norys and Alec J. Kaiser were pronounced dead at the scene. The two were wearing seatbelts and airbags did deploy. The coroner found no drugs or alcohol in the teens’ system, but authorities believe speed contributed to the accident, the Northwest Herald reports.

McHenry Sheriff's Deputies Seize Wild Cannabis Grow Discovered in Unincorporated Marengo

The 656 cannabis plants had a street value of $6,500 if harvested, authorities said.

  McHenry County Sheriff’s deputies seized 656 marijuana plants from a field in unincorporated Marengo this week in what is described as a wild cannabis grow, authorities said. A property owner in the 20000 block of Anthony Road discovered the plants on July 16 and contacted the sheriff’s office, according to a release. Deputies responded and determined it was a wild cannabis grow and not the result of an organized cultivation, the release stated. The street value of the marijuana seized would have been approximately $6,500 if harvested, deputies said. Northbrook Two Crushed In Train Derailment A Glenview couple was crushed to death after a train hauling coal derailed and collapsed a bridge in Northbrook. Video shot by witnesses in the aftermath of the incident is attached to this story. Two Woodstock Teenagers Killed In Crash

The McHenry County Sheriff's Department is investigating a single vehicle crash in which two 16 year olds from Woodstock were killed.

Two 16 year olds from Woodstock were killed in a single vehicle crash Sunday morning in the 14000 block of Davis Road. Alec J. Kaiser and Jacob S. Norys were killed when the vehicle they were riding in left the roadway at about 2:02 a.m. The car, a 2010 Hyundai Elantra, was traveling west and left the south side of the road, striking a brick pillar and a tree, sheriff's police said. Kaiser and Norys were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and airbags did deploy. The McHenry County Coroner's office pronounced Kaiser and Norys dead at the scene.
