John H. Michaels, 83, of Crystal Lake; Family Man, Member of Bethany Lutheran Church
Viewing from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, and a service will follow on Wednesday at 10 am. Both will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake.
John Henry Michaels, 83, of Crystal Lake passed away on Dec. 7, 2012. He was born in Milwaukee on December 11, 1928. He is preceded in death by his wife Carol Mary Michaels, having been married from February 25, 1950, until the time of her passing in December 2007. John was a long standing member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake. He performed with the church choir, and served as a member of the building committee. He worked for AT&T for 35 years. After retirement he worked for 12 years at the local Sears hardware store, where he enjoyed using his great knowledge assisting people in learning about building and the use of tools. As a young man, he served his country in the Army Signal Corps spending time after WWII in Germany …
