Services Scheduled for Cary Woman Killed by Metra Train

Visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday and Friday for 35-year-old Jill Turskey, who was hit and killed Nov. 3, by a Metra train in Cary.

Visitation and funeral services have been scheduled for Jill Turskey, the 35-year-old Cary woman who was tragically killed Saturday, Nov. 3, when she was hit by a Metra train. Visitation for the long-time Cary resident and graduate of Cary-Grove High School is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Cary. Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park, according to Turskey's obituary notice in the Northwest Herald. I heard the Metra train horn blaring as it was passing by the Industrial complex, just south of where the accident occurred, around 6:45 that evening. I knew something was not right when Police Sirens were heard right after that. The Metra train stayed in place until after 8:30 pm, thus an indication of something serious had occurred. UPDATE: Authorities Identify Cary Woman Killed by Train on Saturday

Cary resident Jill Turskey, 35, was struck and killed shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday on the railroad tracks just northwest of the Cary Metra station, authorities said.

  UPDATED SUNDAY, NOV. 4: The McHenry County Coroner's office said Jill Turskey, 35, of Cary was the person struck and killed by a Metra train on Saturday evening. Turskey was struck by an outbound Metra train at about 6:50 p.m. on the tracks northwest of the Cary train station, across from Feinburg Court. Investigators on Sunday were trying to determine how the collision occurred. Kim Bostic, deputy coroner for the county, said the investigation is on-going.
