Living History Event Today at Powers-Walker House in Glacial Park

May has been designated as "Look at Local History Month," and what better way to learn about McHenry County history than visiting the Powers-Walker House in Glacial Park? The McHenry County Conservation District has planned a Living History event from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the Powers-Walker home. The Greek revival house, circa 1854, is located at Glacial Park, a 3,382-acre conservation area located at Route 31 & Harts Road, Ringwood MCCD will feature a “Restoration Showcase” of the house, its donated artifacts and information about the local families who donated the items. I love Glacial Park. McHenry County is so lucky to have a conservation district to save these beautiful open lands for public enjoyment. I encourage all to visit the wonderful MCCD sites.   more ›
