CL Chamber Readies for 31st Home and Business Expo This Weekend

Expo will feature more than 140 exhibitors on Saturday and Sunday, March 23-24, at Crystal Lake South High School.

Shop Local, Make a Difference, Have Fun at the Crystal Lake Expo The Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 31st Home and Business EXPO this weekend to Crystal Lake South High School. More than 140 area businesses and organizations are exhibiting their goods and services at this year's show at Crystal Lake South High School, 1200 S. McHenry Ave. in Crystal Lake. Doors will open to the public from 10 am. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 24. Admission and parking are free. There also will be free door prizes, according to chamber officials.  EXPO exhibitors represent more than 140 diverse businesses and organizations from the community. Community Harvest in Crystal Lake: 3 Days Away

Members of the Crystal Lake Jaycees begin picking up food donations from schools today, and the public is welcome to bring donations to the Community Harvest Headquarters.

  Maybe you've heard of the Community Harvest in Crystal Lake. The city-wide food collection drive is in its 22nd year. But if you've never donated, participated, or attended any of the Community Harvest events, you may not understand what it's all about. Most notably, volunteers gather to work on Thanksgiving morning. "No, we're not packing up Thanksgiving meals," said Community Harvest chairperson Judy Pelinski. "Thanksgiving meals have already gone out by then." "Community Harvest centers around the harvest theme, the day of giving," Pelinski said.
