Cary Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Five Children

Michael S. Reck, 38, was arrested Friday, Jan. 11, and charged with sexual offenses against five victims age 4 to 14, Cary Police said.

  A Cary man has been arrested and accused of sexually assaulting five children, ages 4 to 14, according to the Cary Police Department. Michael S. Reck, 38, 10 Wulff St., Cary, has been charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault (a Class X felony), seven counts criminal sexual assault (Class 1 felony), and two counts aggravated criminal sexual abuse (Class 2 felony), according to a Cary Police Department press release. On Jan. 6, police were notified of alleged incidents between Reck and the five victims, and immediately began an investigation. Police: Cary Man Who Brought Hatchet to Courthouse Charged

Dustin M. Mancill, 23, of Cary, has been charged with various offenses after police said he tried to bring a hatchet into the McHenry County Courthouse on Thursday.

  Police have charged Cary resident Dustin M. Mancill, 23, with various offenses after he allegedly attempted to bring a hatchet into the McHenry County Courthouse in Woodstock on Thursday, the Northwest Herald reports. The charges against Mancill stemming from the Jan. 10 incident include two counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer, three counts of resisting arrest, and one count of unlawful use of a weapon, the Herald reports. McHenry County Court records show Mancill was scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. on misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and aggravated assault of a police officer issued against him by the Cary Police Department in February 2011. Cary Man Attempted to Bring Hatchet into McHenry County Courthouse

Dustin M. Mancill, 23, was transported to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock for evaluation after he was taken into custody Thursday morning, according to the Northwest Herald.

  Cary resident Dustin M. Mancill, 23, was taken into custody Thursday, Jan. 10, after he entered the McHenry County Courthouse in Woodstock with a hatchet tucked inside the front of his pants, the Northwest Herald reports.  At about 8:30 a.m., Mancill entered the courthouse and - per normal security standards - was asked by an officer to remove items from his pockets and take off his coat to be scanned by an X-ray machine, the Herald reports. Upon seeing the hatchet, a security officer grabbed it and pulled Mancill aside, at which time a scuffle ensued. Mancill was calm at times, and then became aggressive, the story states. Cary Police, Tow Companies Partner to Provide Free Tows New Year's Eve

Program aims to keep drunken drivers off the road on New Year's Eve.

  The Cary Police Department again will partner with local towing companies this New Year's Eve to provide free rides home for drivers who have consumed a few too many drinks. Cary Police Chief Steven Casstevens has announced three local towing companies will offer free rides home - along with a free tow for the driver's car - for those who drink too much to drive on New Year's Eve. The tow operators include Pat Blank of Whitey’s Towing, 520 Cary-Algonquin Rd., Cary; Dennis Stoner of D&L Midwest Towing, 6711 Sands Rd., Crystal Lake; and Ken McCoy of A Plus Towing, 40 Detroit St., Cary.
