Labor Day: What's Open, What's Closed in Crystal Lake and Cary

Looking for something fun to do this Labor Day weekend? Here's a list local amenities open on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012.

  Planning a picnic, or looking for someplace fun to go on Labor Day? Here's a list of what's opened, and what's closed for the weekend and Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3, 2012. in Crystal Lake and Cary. Three Oaks Recreation Area, 5517 Route 14, Crystal Lake Beach area is open. Boat rentals available, plenty of room for picnics and fishing.  Beach area will be staff based on lifeguard availability from 10 a.m. to noon in the shallow area, and from noon to 6:30 p.m. full swimming area on Labor Day weekend. Thinking of renting a boat? Save time by downloading and printing the boat rental form ahead of time. Fill the form out at home, and bring it with you to the marina. Cary Community Pool Opens Friday

Water polo, adult private and training classes are new this season.

It may be one of the coolest places under the sun - especially when the heat of summer hits. Only one day until the opening of Cary’s Community Pool, 255 Briargate Rd. Park District officials have been prepping the big pool, as well as the tot pool, in anticipation of the pool’s opening at noon on Friday, June 1. The pool will remain open for the summer season until Sept. 3. Individual swimmers, seniors and families can purchase their Chilly Willy pool pass at the Cary Community Center, adjacent to the pool, or on line using Rapid Registration. Swimmers without passes must pay a daily guest fee. All rates and hours of operation are available on the Cary Park District website.
