Village officials want to revise the home occupation section of the zoning ordinance.
The Cary Village Board has petitioned to outlaw the sale of guns out of one’s home. At the Tuesday night regular board meeting, Cary trustees agreed to clean up the language in the village code and ultimately ban the sale of guns from a home. The proposed an amendment to the ordinance. The amendment will be sent to the Board of Zoning, Planning and Appeals, which will make a recommendation to the Village Board about the language of the proposed text amendment, Rife said. Sage Products in Cary already is the village's largest employer, but when its facility expansion is completed by mid-2011 its workforce also should increase. The expansion is being funded in part by nearly $5.7 million in bonds secured under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, which was signed into law in early 2009.
