Barbara Gerner, 92, of Crystal Lake
Friends are welcome to a memorial service on Friday, Jan. 11, at noon at the Ridgefield Presbyterian Church followed by a graveside service at 1 p.m. at the Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
Barbara Gerner, 92, of Crystal Lake, passed away Jan. 7, 2013. Barbara was born to Stefania and Ignatius Pawlowski. She was a twin and the last born of eight siblings. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Cleveland in 1938. She took secretarial courses at night school and worked as a waitress. She married Warren Weaver, to whome she was married for 52 years. Barbara combined her family life as a wife and mother of three, but also worked outside the home assembling airplane during WWII. During the Korean War, she found herslf back winding electrical coils for plane motors. Her employment also included treasurer of a Credit Union, and from that experience, a position at Carlings Brewery as a comptroller. Barbara was well travelled and …
