A young woman from Crystal Lake will compete in the 56th Annual Distinguished Young Women of Illinois scholarship competition on Sunday. Johanna Sveden will compete against eight other high school seniors from across the state in the 56th Annual Distinguished Young Women of Illinois scholarship competition on Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 North River Rd. The program - formerly known as Illinois' Junior Miss - takes place at 2:30 p.m. Contestants will be evaluated in the categories of scholastics, interview, talent, fitness, and self-expression.
