Christmas Craft Show

If you are looking for holiday gifts or decorations, stop by the 34th Christmas in the Country Craft Show at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Crystal Lake.

The show is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 1023 McHenry Ave. in Crystal Lake. Admission is $1. With over 60 juried crafters displaying their handmade items, the event is run by the Women's Group of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. MUDD Runners Clean Up Trails at Veteran Acres, Sterne's Woods

This Saturday morning the MUDD Ultrarunning Dudes & Dudettes (running club) is hosting a trail clean up day with John Fiorna from the Crystal Lake Park District.

MUDD approached John letting him know they wanted to help keep the trails maintained. John, in turn, offered a class to teach them how to be responsible trail volunteers.

"He is clearly someone that loves his job and the parks," said Michele Hartwig, a MUDD Dudette. "He is also cooking up the working crew a mountain man breakfast using his dutch oven in the fireplace and giving a talk about the history of Veteran Acres and Sternes Woods."

The trail maintenance day is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Sternes Woods parking lot on Hillside Road in Crystal Lake. The public is welcome to come join the volunteers.

"We are hoping to make this a first clean up day of many," Hartwig said.
