It should be a sunny, fall day - although a bit cooler and breezier than we've had so far this season. Today's high temp should hover around 55 degrees. Temps will likely remain in the 50s for the next few days, according to Accuweather.com, with a chance of showers on Saturday and clouds on Sunday.

Nevertheless, there's lots going on in and around Crystal Lake and Cary.

Hip Hop Explosion Returns to Lakeside Legacy Arts Park on Friday
7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18
Lakeside Legacy Arts Park, 401 Country Club Rd., Crystal Lake. Tweens are invited to join in the fun, learn hip hop dances moves and a dance routine.

Trunk or Treat Fall Fest- Immanuel Lutheran Church, Crystal Lake
2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19
A safe and friendly way for kids to trick-or-treat hosted by Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, 300 S. Pathway Court, Crystal Lake. Kids go from car trunk to car trunk for candy. Plus there'll be face painting, hayrides, movies, games, pumpkin painting and concessions. Cost: $1 donation, or bring a canned good. Information: 815-459-1441, or www.imcl.us.
