Weather: Temperatures Drop, Snow Could Come Later This week

Following a weekend of warmer temperatures and severe weather, temps are expected to cool off this week. 

Later this week, Algonquin and Lake in the Hills residents could see rain showers and, possibly, snow showers, according to the National Weather Service.

Here is a detailed look at the weather forecast this week for Algonquin: 

Monday: Mostly cloudy then gradually becoming sunny with a high near 42 degrees. It will be breezy with a west northwest wind of 15 to 20 mph and wind gusts as high as 30 mph. Tonight a low of 26 degrees is in the forecast. 

Tuesday: 
Sunny skies with a high near 46 degrees. Light southwest wind between 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. A low of 33 degrees is in the forecast at night.
 
Wednesday: There is a 30 percent chance of showers expected mainly after noon on Wednesday. Mostly cloudy skies with a high near 45 degrees and a south wind between 10 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph. At night, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and a low of 39 degrees. 

Thursday: There is a 30 percent chance of showers during the day Thursday with cloudy skies and a high near 46. At night, a chance of rain and snow and temps could reach a low of 34. 

Friday: A chance of rain and snow is in the forecast on Friday with cloudy skies and a high near 39. There is a slight chance of snow Friday night with a low around 26. 

Saturday: Breezy and mostly sunny skies with a high near 32. At night there could be a low of 16. 

Sunday: Mostly sunny skies with a high near 29.
