Crystal Lake, Cary School Closings for Monday: District 47, 26, 155, 46 No School
A list of school closings for Monday, Jan. 6, 2014.
There will be no school Monday for students in the following school districts:
- Fox River Grove School District 3
- Prairie Grove District 46
- Community High School District 155: serving Crystal Lake, Cary and Lake in the Hills. All after-school activities and facilities also closed.
- Community Unit School District 300: serving Algonquin, Carpentersville, Lake in the Hills
- Community School District 158: serving Huntley and Algonquin
- St. Thomas the Apostle School in Crystal Lake
- Sts. Peter and Paul School, Cary
- St. John Lutheran's School in Algonquin
- St. Margaret Mary Catholic School in Algonquin
- Trinity Oaks Christian Academy in Cary
- St. Mary Catholic School in Woodstock
- Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock
- Crystal Lake Public Library
- Algonquin Public Library
- Alexander Leigh Center for Autism
- Woodstock District 200
- Faith Community Preschool: Huntley
- First Institute in Crystal Lake
- Foundations Montessori School in Algonquin
- Lord and Savior Lutheran School in Crystal Lake
- McHenry County College
- SEDOM Center School
District 47 Superintendent Kathy Hinz confirmed Sunday all schools will be closed because of the extreme cold temperatures and wind chill warning. An instant alert was sent to parents at 1 p.m. Sunday, Hinz said.
Community High District 155 spokesman Jeff Puma said a district-wide automatic alert regarding the closure was sent parents at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
