Extreme Cold Expected Tonight Through Tuesday Morning

Crystal Lake and Cary residents should brace for frigid temperatures through Tuesday morning.

A special weather statement was issued for Crystal Lake and Cary, on accuweather.com.

Very cold conditions are expected from tonight (Monday) through 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Low temperatures will be in the single digits to just below zero degrees. West winds blowing about 10 mph will create wind chills of 10 to 15 degrees below zero, according to accuweather.com.

Wind chills north of I-90 could reach -20.
