Jaycees host ceremony to honor individuals who make an impact in our community.
The Crystal Lake Jaycees hosted the 50th Annual Public Service Awards on Oct. 3 at the Dole Mansion to honor extraordinary individuals in the community.
The ceremony celebrated residents who put their care, time and effort into helping the community through education, public and community service, and youth leadership. The honorees are chosen from nominations received from the public.

Outstanding Youth Leadership Award: Lauren Kaminsky

JCYAA Award: Gianna Ventrella
Distinguished Service Award: Emily Smith
Lifetime Acheivement Award was presented to the wife and mother of Staff Sargent Christopher Antonik, who gave his life in combat while saving the life of another soldier.
The Master of the Ceremony was Crystal Lake Mayor Aaron Shepley and the Guest Speaker was Chamber of Commerce President Gary Reece.
The judges were: Major Anne Brophy, Rosemary Kurtz, Randy Moan, Donna Kurtz and Joanna Colletti.
The honorees were: Chris Antonik, Paul Dunteman, Marni Eschman, Lauren Kaminsky, Juile Mayer, Jackie Piggott, Emily Smith, Matthew Turk, Gianna Ventrella and Chip Whitman. Randy Moan gave a toast to the honorees.
