Free Park Party in Lake in the Hills
The village of Lake in the Hills will host its park party on July 13 at 11 a.m. Raisin Rhyme will perform for free in the lawn at village hall, 600 Harvest Gate in Lake in the Hills. Raisin Ryhme will teach children new dances and songs and impress upon them the importance of staying active and eating healthy, according to a village of Lake in the Hills press release. Young Eagles Rally Takes Flight in LITH
Free airplane rides will be provided for children ages 8 to 17 years old from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Young Eagles Rally at the Lake in the Hills Airport, 8407 Pyott Road in LITH. For more information visit the EAA Chapter 790 website at www.790eaachapter.org.
Free Fishing Clinic for Kids
The Lake in the Hills Sportsman Club will host its annual kids fishing clinic starting at 9 a.m. at , 9323 Pyott Road in Lake in the Hills. The clinic is free. Equipment will be provided and the bait is free. The sportsman’s club will also have prizes and will provide hot dogs and chips.
D300 Foundation Presents Bye Bye Birdie on Friday
There will be four performances of Bye Bye Birdie with the first starting at 7 p.m. this Friday at Jacobs High School Auditorium, 2601 Bunker Hill Drive. General seating is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Additional shows will be held at 7 p.m. on July 14, July 20 and July 21. Read more in a blog post .
Free Sunday Concerts at Algonquin Commons
Two bands will take the stage this Sunday at the Algonquin Commons. iRock will perform classic rock ‘n roll favorites from the ‘60s to present from 3 to 4 p.m. And R-Gang will perform rhythm and blues from the Motown era through the ‘90s from 5 to 7 p.m. The concert is free. Free Concert at Riverfront Park Thursday
As a part of the village of Algonquin’s Weekend Drive — a classic rock band — will be performing at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at in Algonquin. The concert is free. The village of Algonquin’s website has more information on the concert series.
Free Summer Sunday at Colonel Palmer House
The Crystal Lake Park District is offering a free summer Sunday at Colonel Palmer House, 600 E. Terra Cotta Ave. in Crystal Lake, from 1 to 4 p.m. on July 15. This month's theme is World War II; The Homefront to the Frontlines. Read more on Crystal Lake Patch.
McHenry Hosts Fiesta Days
McHenry’s annual Fiesta Days will kick off this Friday and continue through Tuesday. There will be music, including Tesla on Saturday; arts and crafts in the park; parade; kid’s ice cream social; 5K run and more. Free Showing of Kung Fu Panda 2 at Main Beach
