Music, Comedy Takes Center Stage at Sunset Festival

The Lake in the Hills Summer Sunset Festival will be held Friday, Aug. 31 through Sunday, Sept. 2.

The 2012 Sunset Festival Main Stage Entertainment will offer a wide variety of music and more from Friday through Sunday evening. All entertainment is free.

The Summer Sunset Festival website provides the following information on this year's lineup:


6:30 to 8 p.m. — Billy Croft & The 5-Alarm: A country cover band that plays everything from The Eagles and Linda Ronstadt to contemporary hits by Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, Sugarland and more. 

9 to 10:30 p.m. — Mike and Joe: This regional cover band plays primarily alternative and modern rock mainly from the '90s through today but there are some hits from the 70's and 80 that Mike and Joe work into the mix from time to time. 


6:30 to 8 p.m. — No Left Turn: This cover band plays rock ‘n roll oldies from the 1960s and 1970s, and also songs by Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones and Bad Company.

9 to 10:30 p.m. — 25 or 6 to 4: From the original Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) to present-day Chicago, 25 or 6 to 4 The Chicago Experience plays a variety of hits from the band Chicago. The band offers a multimedia show, complete with choreographed video, lighting effects, live video feeds and nostalgic audio clips. 


2 to 5 p.m. — Battle of the Bands: Watch as area bands compete in this year's Battle of the Bands. 

5:30 to 7 p.m. — AEROTRIP: AEROTRIP has been entertaining crowds with Aerosmith hits since 2005.  

7 p.m. — Comedian A.J. Lubecker: has been performing his stand-up comedy act since he was 15 years old. He’s already performed at the Apollo Theater in Chicago, Laugh Out Loud Theater in Schaumburg and Duke’s Alehouse in Crystal Lake. Most recently, he was chosen as a top ten finalist in .

8 to 9:30 p.m. — Libido Funk Circus: Libido Funk Circus has been performing since 1996 and continues to play an array of Disco hits and dance and rock songs, spanning from the '60s through today.
