McHenry County Fair: Take a Step Back to Your Roots

The McHenry County fairgrounds will be busy this week as the county fair kicks off with events for everyone in the family.

The McHenry County Queen competition has several young ladies from Crystal Lake, Cary and Lake in the Hills participating.

The 2012 McHenry County Fair runs through Sunday, Aug. 5.

Admission

The McHenry County Fair offers affordable family fun. A daily pass is $7 per person, a season pass is $15 dollars. Use this coupon to get two admission tickets for $10.

Schedule of events

A complete schedule of events is here, including livestock shows, a demolition derby, tractor pulls and an antique tractor parade.

Special events

Come out and milk a cow or see a wool spinning demonstration. These are just a few of the special events at the fair this year. New this year is Barnyard Buddies, a small animal educational expo. The Grandstand will have even more activities, shows and fun.

Entertainment/beer tent

It wouldn’t be a fair without Modern Day Romeos, and a beer tent. Modern Day Romeos are performing Friday, Aug. 3. The entertainment continues throughout the weekend. Check out this schedule to make your plans.
