CL Park District Racket Club Hosts Major USTA Event This Weekend

More than 400 players will take to the courts at the Racket Club to compete for the title of "Best Team."

 

Tennis teams from throughout Illinois will compete at a Crystal Lake Park District facility, this weekend for the title of best United States Tennis Association (USTA) team in the state.

The USTA League Illinois State Championships will feature champion teams from various USTA leagues, which are demonstrated top performers in their areas.

The teams will now square off at The Racket Club, 9101 S. Route 31, Algonquin, to determine the best in tennis singles and doubles in Illinois. The USTA facilitates leagues in all age and ability levels, and this event will feature top adult and senior teams.

The USTA League Illinois State Championships will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11 and Sunday, August 12.

Admission is free.

Illinois is comprised of four USTA districts: Chicago, Northern, Middle and Southern districts. The league champion divisions are Adult Men & Women, and Senior Men & Women.  Competition format consists of singles and doubles play for adult teams, and doubles only for senior teams.

The Racket Club has three outdoor clay courts, four outdoor hard courts and nine indoor hard courts. All 13 hard courts will be pressed into action to accommodate the more than 400 players expected to participate.
