CL Park District Hosts 'Blast on the Beach' Today

Summer's not over, yet. Stop by the "Blast on the Beach" on Aug. 18, in Crystal Lake to squeeze in a little more summertime fun.

 

School supplies line shelves of local stores. Football players are back in the field gearing up for the new season. And moms, dads, teens and kids alike have eyes on the last few days of summer. 

Don't put away those flip flops just yet. There's one big end-of-summer bash remaining in Crystal Lake: "Blast on the Beach."

The "Blast on the Beach" is scheduled from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 (rain date Sunday, Aug. 19), at Main Beach, 300 Lake Shore Dr., Crystal Lake.

officials expect this year's Blast to be a big one as the BMO Harris sponsorship allows free admission for all attendees. The "Blast on the Beach" lineup includes a water ski show, treasure hunt, fun fair, craft fair and Baggo tournament, to name a few.

Mr. Myers, a Sycamore-based Carribean-rock band, will play Reggae, Calypso, Jimmy Buffet and other beach tunes.

The "Blast on the Beach" schedule:

3 to 7 p.m.      Fun Fair and Craft Fair

4 to 5 p.m.     Treasure Hunt in the Sand

4 to 5 p.m.      Bags Tournament

5:30 p.m.        Crystal Lake Water Ski Club Show 

6:30 p.m.        Mr. Myers Band Performance

9:00 p.m.        Park Closes
