MCC Men's Hoops Hold On, Women Struggle in Defeat
Men's team let Morton back in the game while MCC women can only muster three points in first 10 minutes.
After losing Tuesday, ’s men’s basketball team looked to rebound in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference play Thursday night at home against Morton College.
The Scots jumped out to an 11-point lead before losing the advantage briefly but MCC would respond and pull away for a 85-73 win.
MCC (9-9, 3-1) led 36-30 at the break after leading by as many as 10 in the half and led by 11 in the second half before Morton took a brief one-point advantage. The Scots responded with consecutive three-pointers on their next two drives.

Mershon Wilkes led MCC with 22 points while LeBarron Hull added 20 and Eric Wilde had 18 points.
MCC will travel to the College of Lake County at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Scots Women Struggle to Score in Defeat
Thursday night presented another opportunity for McHenry County College’s women’s basketball team to get an Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference victory at home against Morton College.
The Scots scored just three points in the opening ten minutes of the contest and couldn’t recover during an 82-45 defeat.
Alyssa Haayer led MCC (2-18, 0-4) with 15 points and 16 rebounds while Jerrica Graham added 12 points.
MCC will face the College of Lake County at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday in Grayslake.
