Cary-Grove Football Begins Aug. 26

It may only be the end of June but on Monday, the Illinois High School Association released the 2011 Prep Football schedules with the season two months away for Cary-Grove and new .

The Trojans, coming off a quarterfinal appearance where Cary lost in overtime to Rockford Boylan, will begin on Aug. 26 at St. Charles East and will play at Lake Zurich on Sept. 2 to start the 2011 campaign, with both games beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Coach Seaburg will have his first home game of his Cary career against a team that has given Cary some tough games over the past decade in Crystal Lake South on Sept. 9 at 7:15 p.m.

Hampshire, who enters the Fox Valley Conference this season, will travel to Cary on Saturday, Sept. 17 for C-G’s homecoming game at 1 p.m.

Cary will alternate between the road and home for the last five weeks of the season beginning on Sept. 23 with a game at Jacobs and followed by a home game with McHenry on Sept. 30 at 7:15.

The month of October begins with a game at Huntley on Oct. 7 and will host Dundee-Crown on Oct. 14 before a trip to Prairie Ridge on Oct. 21 to conclude the season.

Prairie Ridge moves from the Fox Division to the Valley Division this year with the addition of Hampshire to the league.

The game against Prairie Ridge could potentially be one to decide the Valley Division title as the Wolves went to the Class 6A semifinals last season and return many of their players from last year.
