Crystal Lake Wakeboarder Gets Tips, Trains With Pro Dylan Prideaux

Pro Dylan Prideaux, 18, has been staying with Cullen Rumford's family in Crystal Lake. Both will compete this weekend in the world wakeboarding championships.

Cullen Rumford, an 18-year-old Crystal Lake wakeboarding champion, has been enjoying the company of Australian professional wakeboarder Dylan Prideaux who has been staying with Rumford's family over the past several weeks, according to the Northwest Herald.

Prideaux, an 18-year-old professional wakeboarder from Australia, was looking for a Midwest home to cut back on travel and the Rumford family offered him a spot at their lake house, which has meant training sessions on Crystal Lake and plenty of tips being offered up by Prideaux to Rumford, according to the article.

Cullen, a Crystal Lake Central graduate, and Prideaux will compete this weekend in the World Wakeboarding Association world championships in Pleasant Prairie, Wis., according to the Northwest Herald. The competition gets underway Thursday and will continue through Sunday, according to the WWA website.
