CL South Volleyball Falls to Benet Academy at State Semifinals
Crystal Lake South will play for third place on Saturday in the IHSA Class 4A finals.
Hopes and dreams of Crystal Lake South Girls Volleyball winning the state championship sadly came to end on Friday night.
The Gators lost to Benet Academy, of Lisle, in two sets, 25-22 and 25-18, at the IHSA Class 4A state semifinals at Illinois State University.
The Gators will play for third place at 7:25 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16.
Benet is the two-time state defending champions, according to the Northwest Herald. South hasn't sent a volleyball team to state since 1996.
Despite the loss, the Gators had a exceptional season with many family members and fans supporting the team along the way.
