Cary-Grove High School graduate Josh Freeman has earned himself a trip to compete as part of Team USA at the Pan American Junior Track and Field Championship later his summer, according to McHenryCountySports.com.
Freeman qualified for Team USA by placing second in the shot at the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field championships last week in Des Moines, according to the article. The Pan American junior track and field championships will be held in Medellin, Colombia from Aug. 23 through Aug. 26, according to McHenryCountySports.com.
Freeman, 18, is a part of the track and field team at Southern Illinois University, according to his bio on the track and field page.
