A busy week for Cary-Grove’s athletic teams as the Christmas holiday approaches. Here’s a look at what happened…
Boys Basketball: Cary began play in the Jacobs Holiday Classic on Saturday facing Fox Valley Conference rival Crystal Lake Central. The Trojans fell to 1-8 on the season in a 63-49 loss to the Tigers. Jake Bianchi had 17 points to lead Cary in the loss. The Trojans will play Mundelein Monday night at 9 p.m.
Girls Basketball: The Trojans opened their week on the road at Buffalo Grove Tuesday with a 49-41 overtime win over the Bison. Olivia Jakubicek scored 19 points to lead Cary while Paige Lincicum added 11. Saturday continued play in the Mundelein Tournament for C-G. Jakubicek led Cary with 21 points in a 38-36 win to advance Cary to the semifinals of the tournament and improve to 8-3 on the season. Cary will play Rolling Meadows on Wednesday.

Wrestling: C-G began their week with a 46-21 Fox Valley Conference win over Huntley on Thursday. Mike Cullen, Mike Underwood, Matt Fina and Nick Huff each had pins for the Trojans in the victory.
Boys Swimming: Cary started the week Tuesday with a 118-62 win over Hoffman Estates as the Trojans won the 200 and 400 freestyle relays as a team along with the 200 medley relay.
