Cary-Grove Sports Roundup

A look at this week's Trojans sporting results.

Cary-Grove began their first full week of all winter sports in action, here is how the Trojans did…

Boys Basketball: Cary began the 2011-12 season at the Hoops for Healing Tournament with a 52-39 loss Monday to Belvidere. Ben Bradshaw scored ten points to lead the Trojans. On Wednesday, C-G lost their second straight game with a 56-49 to Larkin.

Ryan Arquette led Cary with 14 points. Friday afternoon, Cary secured their first win of the year with 37-21 victory over Round Lake. Bradshaw and Jake Bianchi each had 11 points in the victory. On Saturday, Cary finished tournament play with a 64-35 loss to Hononegah to finish 1-3.

Girls Basketball: C-G continued play at the Lake Zurich Tournament Tuesday with a 55-42 win over Lakes. Paige Lincicum led Cary with 17 points. The Trojans finished their tournament action Wednesday with their second straight win in a 42-30 win over Rolling Meadows. Lincicum led C-G again with points with 16 as Cary improved to 2-2 on the season.

Wrestling: After losing their season debut Tuesday night to Harvard, the Trojans went to the Barrington Tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Trojans finished 14th out of the 16 teams with the best performance coming at 106 pounds with Mike Cullen finishing in third place.
