A look at how the Trojans athletic teams did this week.

The final week before Christmas brought holiday basketball tournaments. Here’s how the Trojan basketball teams fared this week….

Boys Basketball: The Trojans continued play in the Jacobs Tournament on Monday with a 54-52 win over Mundelein. Eric Graham scored 12 points while Zach Taylor added 11 in the win. Cary added a 40-28 win over Crystal Lake South on Tuesday to finish second in their pool. Graham scored ten points to pace C-G. After an off day Wednesday, Cary got back on the court Thursday afternoon but fell 62-40 to Barrington. Jake Bianchi scored 12 points to lead Cary while Taylor had eight. Friday saw the end of the tournament and another loss to Cary, this time Zion-Benton beat the Trojans 68-41. Graham and Casey Snodgrass each scored nine points in the defeat as C-G fell to 3-10 on the season.

Girls Basketball: Cary began the week Wednesday in the semifinals of the Mundelein Holiday Tournament against Rolling Meadows. While Cary played a tough game against the Mustangs, C-G would lose 49-44. Olivia Jakubicek scored 15 points and had 11 rebounds while Joslyn Nicholson added 13 points. The loss bounced Cary to the third-place game on Thursday against Zion-Benton where the Trojans fell 71-54. Jakubicek, who was named to the all-tournament team, scored 20 points to lead Cary as C-G fell to 8-5 on the year.
