Another week of Cary-Grove sports has passed, here’s what happened over the past week…..
Boys Basketball: Cary began weekly play Thursday night with a 55-46 loss to Grayslake North. Ryan Arquette and Steve Plazak each scored ten points to lead C-G. On Saturday night, the Trojans lost to Crystal Lake Central by the score of 53-41. Arquette led Cary in scoring with ten points as Cary fell to 1-5 on the season and will play Carmel on Wednesday night in their next game.
Girls Basketball: The Trojans opened their week with their home-opener against Antioch. Behind 14 points from Joslyn Nicholson, Cary won 50-31 on Wednesday. Olivia Jakubicek added ten points and eight rebounds. On Friday, C-G played a tough Grayslake Central and fell 42-38. Jakubicek kept Cary in the game with her game-high 21 points. The Trojans fell to 3-3 with the loss and will play Prairie Ridge next on Tuesday night.

Boys Swimming: Cary opened their season Saturday at the Zion-Benton Invitational with the Trojans winning the four-team event. C-G won the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay as a team. Michael Hamann won the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke to lead the Trojans on the day.
