Trojans on Offense: Last week during , the Trojans marched right down the field and scored on their first possession and never found the end zone again.

South has a very strong defense like Lake Zurich, shutting out Crystal Lake Central last week while holding the Tigers to just 55 rushing yards and has only allowed 118 yards and six points in their first two games.

It will be very important for quarterback Corey Laktas to be able to use the option to deceive the Gators.

Players like Patrick O’Malley at the fullback position and the Trojan wingbacks need to find the holes where the defense miss who they believe is the ball carrier.

Trojans on Defense: The first two weeks of the season, Cary has only allowed one touchdown and South may be on their backup quarterback after Austin Fowler was taken off on a stretcher last week during South’s 9-0 win over Crystal Lake Central.

Cary allowed just 150 yards of offense last week to a Lake Zurich team that had scored 35 points in their Week 1 win and was ranked No. 2 in the state in Class 7A.

Zach Marszal has come up big in the early going with three interceptions during the first two games. This will be a defensive game with the strong defenses along with rain and high winds in the forecast.

Things to Know: Cary moved up to No. 3 in Class 6A after last week’s win while South moved to No. 5 in Class 7A……Attendance over the past number of years has approached 5,000 at every game so leave early to park and bring the umbrella with periods of rain and 15-25 MPH winds in the forecast for Friday night……The teams have split their last four meetings after C-G won five of the previous six meetings.
