Trojans on Offense: Last week against Hampshire, coach Brad Seaburg decided to go with Quinn Baker at quarterback after Corey Laktas struggled in the early going and may have found something. Baker ran for 196 yards and four touchdowns as Cary played without running back Ryan Mahoney and ran for 394 yards.

Expect a mix of Baker and Laktas this week as the two alternated snaps during the first two weeks of the season with the one playing better getting more snaps. Jacobs is only giving up around 11 points a game while C-G is averaging 20 points a game.

Trojans on Defense: This will be a tough battle for the Cary D against a very talented Golden Eagles offense led by running backs Caz Zyks and Kyle Wright with quarterback Jason Judson.

Jacobs has been averaging 38 points a game and Zyks has run for over 620 yards in the first four games. It will be important to slow down either Zyks or Wright as both have the ability to run for over 100 yards.

Judson is a poised quarterback who has thrown over 620 yards and seven touchdowns for the season. While the Trojans have allowed only 23 points the first four games, it will be imperative to hold Jacobs under 21 points to gain victory.

Things To Know: The Trojans remained at No. 5 this week in Class 6A in the AP state rankings…..This is the Homecoming game for the Jacobs……The four wins for Jacobs is the same or more wins than the Golden Eagles had during seven of their last 11 seasons….Jacobs has not beat the Trojans since 2001….This will be the 480th game in school history with a 291-186-2 overall record.
