All Eyes On Gators This Week

South to face an intense Huntley offense.

Huntley will attempt to hand Crystal Lake South their first loss this Friday.

The Gators (6-0) remain undefeated this season, but this week may prove to be their biggest challenge yet.

The Red-Raiders (3-3) have their backs against the wall and cannot afford a loss if they want to see this year's playoffs. But traveling to Crystal Lake South won't be an easy task.

South's defense will have to stop the duo of great Huntley rushers in the form of running back Chris Cunningham and quarterback Tim Lycos.

Cunningham has an impressive average of 9.3 yards per carry this season. This could be a problem for the Gator defense if they don't shut him down.

"We are working on maintaining our level of intensity throughout the whole game," said Gator head coach Chuck Ahsmann.

Being able to control the clock more with their running game and giving the defense a break may be one way the Gators could find that level of intensity.

In their last game against Jacobs, the Gator defense spent a lot of time on the field. This allowed long, time consuming drives that may have taken away some of South's intensity throughout the game.
