Do You Think Rakow Road Could Use a New Gas Station?

An Omaha, Neb-based company is looking to build a new gas station and convenience store at the southeast corner of Rakow and Pyott roads, according to the Northwest Herald.

Buchanan Energy was expected to appear before the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission Wednesday night for an introductory meeting regarding the proposed 20-pump gas station, 7,054-square-foot convenience store and automatic car wash at 8108 Pyott Drive, which is the site of L&V Distributors, Inc., according to the article.

L&V Distributors representatives said they unsure what they would do if the property was sold, according to the Northwest Herald.

Absolutely, especially since the Marathon at Virginia and Berkshire continues to be one of the highest gas gougers in CL.

I think it's a great idea! Would there be a problem with it being close to the airport? I remember years ago, someone wanted to build a gas station on Randall Road approx. where CVS is. I believe there was mention at the time it was not approved because it was in line with the flight path of the airport. I hope it won't be an issue!

I think it wold be a good location. Since it is on the opposite side of the road from the airport and next to the walk/bike bridge over the road it should not be an issue for airplanes. Give the gas station and store a airplane theme to fit in with the airport. Make a path to allow those using the walk/bike path a way to stop at the store or put some free air in bike tires. Just a thought.

Yes. Not a bad site considering the traffic patterns in the area. Be sure to incorporate bike racks since it’s adjacent to the bile trail and will get lots of users looking for water or snacks. I won’t miss the nasty metal building there now.

It's ok if the only access is from Pyott Rd. Rakow road is finally smooth sailing and cars turning in & out would disrupt the traffic flow.
