University News: Local Students Make Dean's Lists, Graduate

LISLE:  Benedictine University announced 856 students were named to the Dean's List at Benedictine University for the Spring 2013 semester.

The Dean's List recognizes full-time students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or above. Among the students named to the Dean's List at Benedictine University for the Spring 2013 semester were:

Mary Christine Belluomini of Cary.

Shannon Marie O'Connell of Crystal Lake.

Lea Michele Shababy of Crystal Lake.

KINGSTON, Rhode Island -- The University of Rhode Island announced about 3,800 undergraduates have qualified for the Spring 2013 Dean's List. 

Megan Elizabeth Straumann, of Cary, was named to the Dean's List.

To be included on the Dean's List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The following local residents graduated from Drake University at the conclusion of the spring 2013 semester:

Jacob Underwood, of Cary, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Information Systems.

Kayla Boddy, of Crystal Lake, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Actuarial Science/Finance.

Morgan Nielsen of Crystal Lake graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Marketing.

Joseph Revak of Crystal Lake graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy in Pharmacy.

Joseph Revak of Crystal Lake graduated with a Master of Business Administration.

ROCHESTER, New York -- Anthony Maginity, of Crystal Lake, graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a certificate in structural design from RIT's College of Applied Science and Technology in the spring 2013 quarter.

Decoster Named to Hofstra University's Spring 2013 Dean's List

HEMPSTEAD, New York -- Caitlin Decoster, of Crystal Lake, has made the Spring 2013 Dean's List at Hofstra University. Caitlin, Class of 2013, is majoring in community health.

Haugen Graduates from Bethel University

SAINT PAUL, Minn.-- Jula Haugen, of Crystal Lake, graduated from Bethel University, St. Paul, following the spring 2013 semester. Haugen earned a BS in Nursing. She is the daughter of Boon and Cynthia Charoenying from Crystal Lake.

Erita, Holmes, Stumpner Make U. of Wisconsin-Platteville Dean's List

PLATTEVILLE, Wisc. -- University of Wisconsin-Platteville announced its 2013 spring semester Dean's List. Students receive this academic honor in the College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture and the College of Liberal Arts and Education must achieve a 3.75 grade point average and students in the College of Engineering, Math and Science must earn a 3.5 grade point average.
