University News: Local Students Graduate, Earn Dean's Lists Honors

Local students earn academic accolades.

Several local students were named to dean's lists for the fall 2013 semester. Some students earned graduation degrees.

LISLE, 3/20/2013-- Benedictine University announced that 355 students were named to the Dean's Recognized List for the Fall 2012 semester. The Dean's Recognized List recognizes part-time students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or above.

Belluomini, Singletary, O'Connell Named to Benedictine Dean's List

LISLE, 3/21/2013-- Benedictine University proudly announces that 778 students were named to the Dean's List at Benedictine University for the Fall 2012 semester. The Dean's List recognizes full-time students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or above.

Among the students named to the Dean's List at Benedictine University for the Fall 2012 semester are:

Mary Belluomini of Cary.

Richard Singletary of Cary.

Shannon O'Connell of Crystal Lake.

 

Spinelle, of Crystal Lake, Named to Eckerd Dean's List

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. 3/21/2013-- Christopher Spinelle, of Crystal Lake, has been named to Eckerd College's Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester.

The Dean's List is compiled following the fall and spring semesters and includes students who completed at least four courses with a grade point average of 3.75. Christopher is majoring in Management.

 

Axarlis, of Cary, Graduates Milwaukee School of Engineering

MILWAUKEE, Wis. 3/21/2013-- AnnMarie Axarlis, from Cary, graduated this winter from Milwaukee School of Engineering with a Master of Science in Perfusion.

 

Jensen, Volkhart, of Crystal Lake, Named to Milwaukee School of Engineering Dean's List

MILWAUKEE, Wis. 3/07/2013-- Milwaukee School of Engineering has announced the following students have been named to the MSOE Dean's List for the 2013 Winter Quarter:

Ayla Jensen, a Computer Engineering major from Crystal Lake, was named to the Deans List with High Honors

Marius Volkhart, a Software Engineering major from Crystal Lake, was named to the Deans List

Undergraduate students who have earned at least 30 credits and have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher (out of 4.0) are on the Dean's List. Students who have maintained a 3.70 or higher receive "high honors."

 

Burney, Sullivan Named to Washington University Dean's List

ST. LOUIS, MO 3/12/2013-- The following students were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis.

Caroline Burney, of Crystal Lake, was named to the Dean's List. Burney is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences.

Kathryn Sullivan of Crystal Lake, was named to the Dean's List. Sullivan is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences.

To qualify for the Dean's List in the College of Arts & Sciences, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.

 

Engel, Holtz, Rolf Named to Nebraska-Lincoln Dean's List

LINCOLN, Nebraska 02/14/2013-- The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has announced the students named to the Deans' List/Honor Roll for the fall semester of the 2012-13 academic year. Students from this area who qualified included:

Cary: David Engel, sophomore, actuarial science, College of Business Administration with a 4.0 grade-point average.

Cary: Amanda Holtz, sophomore, economics, College of Business Administration

Prairie Grove: Chelsea Rolf, senior, psychology, College of Arts and Sciences.
