Cary Teachers' Union, D-26 Board of Education Set to Meet Tomorrow

The Cary Education Association and Cary School District 26 Board of Education will continue negotiations on Aug. 31.

In a letter to Superintendent Brian Coleman and President of the Board president Chris Spoerl, the Cary Education Association said they will like to meet again.

“During the past week Cary teachers have worked diligently to prepare classrooms and lessons for the beginning of the school year to ensure a successful start for our students,“ the teachers’ union letter said.

“However, Cary teachers continue to recognize the urgency of the current situation between the Board of Education and the teachers, as well as the call from the community to resolve the issue of negotiations.”

In an email from Annette Bear, she said the CEA will continue to follow set protocol and present their offer when meeting with the Board of Education tomorrow evening.

“This allows discussion and clarification at the time the proposal is presented,“ she said.
