Rosch, Jereb Named to Sports Town Chicago All-Star Team

Cary-Grove standouts Ashley Rosch and Melanie Jereb was announced to the all-star team on Nov. 8.

Internet radio station SportsTownChicago.com (STC) today announced it will host its' second annual High School Girl’s All-Star Volleyball Game to showcase players from across Illinois in one of the most competitive matches of the season. 

Ashley Rosch and Melanie Jereb will be representing .

During the Nov. 8 selection show sponsored by Cheeseburger in Paradise in Downers Grove, 36 girls were chosen to play in the senior All-Star.

The names of the selected players were announced live on SportsTownChicago.com, with coaches, teammates and families present to cheer on the players. 

Following the announcements, the station’s expert volleyball commentators broke down the teams and discussed their chances to win the next All-Star championship.

 “We are extremely excited to once again host the All-Star game to help raise the profile of the sport and bring notoriety to the tremendous talent we have across the state,” said Peter Ferreri, Program Director of Sports Town Chicago. 

“STC has once again partnered with A Silver Lining Foundation and we are confident that in working together we can accomplish new milestones for the sport of volleyball while giving back to a great cause.”

In 2010, the station hosted the first annual High School All-Star Game with participation from more than 100 local high schools. 

Station coverage included live radio play-by-play and live streaming video, functioning as a top recruiting resource for college coaches. 

More than 600 attendees and 300 live online viewers cheered the players to victory. 

This year’s game will engage every high school coach and athletic department in the state of Illinois, as well as every college athletic department with a volleyball program, from junior college to division one.

Why:  All proceeds will go to A Silver Lining Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to ensuring access and treatment options to underserved individuals affected by cancer.
