Lawsuits Filed Against D300 After Slide Tips Over at Elementary School

The families of two Algonquin Lakes Elementary School students — who were injured after an 18-foot-tall slide tipped over during a year-end celebration last May — have filed lawsuits against District 300 and local rental company, according to the Daily Herald.

The one girl was diagnosed with a concussion following the accident and has problems concentrating on school work, playing piano and reading, while the other girl suffered fractures, splintered bone marrow in her ankle and "could have the early onset of post-traumatic arthritis," according to the article.

The lawsuit claims District 300 and Ed's Rental and Sales, Inc., did not secure the slide properly and should held liable for the accident, according to the Daily Herald.
